Enjoy a guided walk on Private Land
Date: Tuesday, November 30th @ 1:00 p.m.
Location: 504 Line 12 S. , Oro-Medonte L0L1T0 (Hawkestone)
Come and enjoy this natural wooded property in which the trails were hand cut by the owner, Ingrid Barron (with assistance from her spouse and mother). Ingrid will guide us through various trails – there are 3 army bunkers situated on this property which were there from the early 1940s when the army used this for tank training – most people in this area have no idea about this treasure. We can also see an old tree which must have housed a colony of porcupines according to the 4 ft high “poop” mounds (all old and not stinky but an incredible observation of nature at its finest).
While the land is flat, there are also lots of roots and some uneven trails so please wear appropriate footwear and waking poles might help. Ingrid has graciously allowed us to park on her property.
