You’ve heard of “Ladies Night Out”? Well this is “Ladies Morning In!” and I would love for you to pour a cup of coffee and join me for this special event.
Do you have a fetish for shoes? Are you like Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City or Penny on the Big Bang Theory? Do you have a closet full of more footwear than a mere mortal would ever need??? Even if shoe buying and collecting is not your favourite hobby, you will still be thoroughly entertained. Yvette Brown of the Bata Shoe Museum will be joining us. She will take us on a fascinating journey and we will experience the many facets of footwear: its evolution and symbolism through the ages, the methods and materials of its manufacture and its place in our imaginations. It is a voyage through four and a half millennia of shoes. As well as presenting this engaging overview of the history of footwear, “All About Shoes” also explores the wider context of the Museum’s fascinating collection which consists of more than 14,000 shoes and related artefacts. This is not meant to be serious, or even educational but just plain fun, so please, mark the date on your calendar and while Mother Nature continues to share her winter weather with us, let’s get together and have an enjoyable morning.
